Elina Poubelle’s practice explores relationships between people and places. Working with sculpture, installation, site specific intervention, photo, and video she creates work that uses different levels of interactiveness to engage people in a variety of ways. Typically using street ephemera, unassuming construction material and collaboration with other fields in the arts, her work re-imagines the mundane to shift perspectives. She harnesses curiosity as a visual language through the use of material and contextual ambiguity and engaging deeper sensorial experiences. 


Biography 

Poubelle is a Sydney based artist currently completing a BFA (sculpture) at the National Art School, graduating in December of 2026. Alongside studying and her practice, she has a developing curatorial practice with a particular interest within non-traditional art conventions. She is co-founder and co-curator of the ari deed, a gallery in Stanmore which houses experimental installation, expansive practices and site responsive works. Her work is in private collections in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Copenhagen, Berlin, Minneapolis, Grand Marais, New York City, Port Louis and London.
